What is a 'Celebrant' and what is their role?

A celebrant can officiate at ceremonies for your life events and provide alternative and unique ceremonies and services that cover any beliefs or faiths.  Training has been achieved with the professional body Fellowship of Professional Celebrants in Funerals and Family Celebrancy.

Where do I meet you and who needs to be present?

Visits can be at your own home, at my home, or at a convenient neutral location.  During the pandemic contact can be made via Zoom, Email, Telephone, WhatsApp, Messenger.

How long is a meeting?

Approximately 2 hours.

​

What information do you need?

For wedding couples: in our discussions we will talk through the things that make you special to the other, people you would like to include in your ceremony, and preparation for your personalized vows.

​

For funerals: Expressions of wish from your loved one, religious preferences or none; any other information that you have pertaining to the service itself.

​

For life events: information that is pertinent to the upcoming event, e.g. name of sponsors/godparents, preferred music and readings if desired, etc.

What happens next?  Do you send me a copy of the ceremony?

All ceremonies are tailored to you and they will be sent to you via email or post for your full perusal.  Once all the changes have been made a final draft will be sent out to you.  After the ceremony/service, a master copy will be given to you.

You are a musician, will you sing or play the piano/organ at the ceremony?

I can provide organ playing and singing for funerals.

Where can a service/ceremony be held?

Funeral Services can be held at a crematorium, cemetery, cemetery chapel, local hall, or at home; marriage ceremony and life events venues can be anywhere of your choice.

What is included in the fee?

The fee includes writing and performing the ceremony/service, travel expenses, certificates/documents pertaining to the event.

There may be additional expenses depending on the location outside of my local area.
